WHAT AGE DO YOU START IN CUB SCOUTS?

Cub Scouts typically starts either in kindergarten or first grade.  The kindergarten program (called Lions) is an age-appropriate junior version of Cub Scouts designed to ease families into scouting without being overwhelming.  The first grade program (called Tigers) is the beginning of the full Cub Scout program that continues through 5th grade. Each grade level lines up with a den. Scouts are welcome to join at any point and will be placed into the appropriate den.

Kindergarten = Lion Cub
First Grade = Tiger Cub
Second Grade = Wolf Cub
Third Grade = Bear Cub
Forth Grade = Webelos Scout
Fifth Grade = Arrow of Light Scout

CAN MY CHILD VISIT A MEETING BEFORE MAKING A COMMITMENT?

Absolutely!  When you contact us, we will automatically invite you to our next pack or den meetings.  You can attend as a guest before making any commitment.

HOW MUCH DOES SCOUTING COST?

BSA Membership

The national registration fee is $105*.
This includes a one-time joining fee of $25 and an annual fee of $80**.
For an additional $15 for the year, Cub Scouts may subscribe to Scout Life magazine.

Pack Dues
To cover the costs of awards and recognition, crafts, and special events most local packs have dues. Our pack offers fundraisers to offset these costs. Dues are established by the families in the pack through the pack committee.

Handbook

Each grade level has a specific handbook they use for the year. Handbooks have all the required and elective adventures for each rank.  Handbooks also serve as a Scout’s record of completing adventures.
These can be purchased at the local Scout Shop for around $24. See scoutshop.org for details and current prices.

Scouting App
A free app for Apple and Android, that allows parents and Scouts to track the Scouting Experience from Lion to Eagle Scout.

Uniform
Each grade has a specific uniform for their program. These are referred to as the Class A uniform. Pack 200 requires at a minimum: the Class A shirt (complete with current patches), neckerchief, slide, and belt.
See scoutshop.org for details and current prices.

Class B uniforms, our Pack 200 T-Shirts are optional and cost $15.

Activities
Additional activities such as overnight camp outs, field trips, day camps and resident camps have additional costs associated with them.  These costs differ based on den and activities performed.

HOW CAN I VOLUNTEER?

While not an exhaustive list, these are some ways that you can get involved in Scouting, and Pack 200

Our pack is ALWAYS growing, and as a volunteer based organization, volunteers are always needed! At times there is too much work to be done and not enough time to do it. Rather than omitting events because of this, please let us know how you can help.
